Brows

My eyebrows need shaping, what should I do? Can shaping my eyebrows enhance my appearance?

To ensure a perfect shape and enhance your individual features, waxing should only be done professionally.

How often should I care for my eyebrows?

After your initial comprehensive eyebrow design service, The Brow & Skin Studio recommends a monthly service. Regular eyebrow maintenance keeps your eyebrow’s shape and keeps them looking their best.

What should I do if I have sensitive skin?

The Brow & Skin Studio uses products that cater to sensitive skin and also minimise redness.

Are there any contra-indications before waxing?

You should not wax for at least two weeks after using Retinol A, Glycolic Acid or Roaccutane treatment. You should advise your eyebrow specialist if you have been using any of these products.

Skin

What specialty treatments should you include for healthy skin?

Every skin is different and requires a personalised assessment. We achieve great results with paramedical, superceutical and cosmeceutical treatments and a variety of peels that target specific skin conditions, as well as – of course – the Omnilux™ light therapy machine.

What is Omnilux™ and why am I hearing so much about it?

Omnilux™, the leading light therapy, was developed in the UK after 12 years of extensive medical research. The Omnilux™ is a new technology based on using a narrowband of light delivered through Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The light technology works because cells within the body contain receptors that absorb light naturally. When the body is exposed to light, these receptors absorb the light waves and kick-start a cellular response. Different wavelengths of light will stimulate different cellular responses within the cell.

The Omnilux Revive™ and Plus™ acts to energise, rejuvenate and repair damaged skin and uneven skin tone, and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Omnilux Revive™ delivers a precise wavelength of visible red light that penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate fibroblast activity to naturally boost the production of collagen (the protein responsible for plump, healthy skin). It gives skin the “glow factor”.

What are the main skin concerns in between seasons?

The skin can become more dry and irritated during the winter months, whereas during summer it may feel more oily and congested. If you notice changes in your skin it is advisable to see your skin care professional.

What are the latest beauty ingredients and what do they do?

DNA Repair Enzymes & Epidermal and Fibroblast Growth factors – These two breakthrough ingredients eliminate damaged DNA and activate epidermal & dermal stem cells, stimulate collagen production resulting in dramatically tightened pores, thicker skin and improved skin tone and texture.

Cusodase-P Complex, Idebenone, Coffeeberry and Peptides, all of which are superceutical antioxidants that protect cells against free radical damage – the major cause of premature skin aging and DNA damage. While there is an abundance of skin care out there, they are not all created equally as some can do more harm than good. That is why it is vital to establish a good relationship with a skin care professional you can trust, somebody who considers your best interest. Every skin is unique and requires its own diagnosis and treatment.
